I don't come by this board very frequently and certainly wasn't expecting to see such sad news this evening. Harold was a special man and had such a great spirit, and was so kind to everyone he met. Not only did Harold umpire many games my son played in, but, when my son hit his first home run, in the District III tournament 2 years ago, Harold personally walked out and retrieved the ball, and signed a nice congratulatory message to my son on the ball. Later that same summer his team was fortunate to travel to Hickory and win the state tournament. He is one of the boys pictured receiving their trophies from Harold. I know we will miss Harold and I'm sure many others will miss him as well.
